Classical Guitar Repertoire Order

"Where do I go next?" is the question I get asked more than any other, and there is no single correct answer — you choose the repertoire. What I can give you is the order I actually use with my own students: Brouwer and Legnani to open, Giuliani and Carcassi to build the right hand, Sor and Bach to raise the difficulty, then the Villa-Lobos études once those are solid. The lessons below follow that order, easiest to hardest, with Barrios' La Catedral at the end — the piece that pulls together most of what came before it.
